From the program booklet of Tabula Rasa Festival, La Salle by Jaime Redfern:
Game was originally created in 2000 for Fontys Dance Academy in the Netherlands. Set on music by two Asian and one western composer, this surrealist short piece makes use of slow speed movement as well as dynamic patterns. It is typical for this Dutch theatermaker to combine introvert and extravert sequences as a metaphor for his Eurasian background. The title refers perhaps to the animalist positions and gestures within the choreography. From a distance it may seem as if the performers behave movement wise more like “Game” (wild animals) then like humans. Besides, the title could also be associated with the playful character of the composition in which the dancers play with each other within space and separate spheres.
