The famous Russian Imperial Ballet from Saint Petersburg was commissioned by Tsar Alexander Romanov III in 1890 to design a grand, unforgettable fairytale ballet to new music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. With choreography by the French ballet master Marius Petipa.

This masterpiece, “Sleeping Beauty” (The Sleeping Beauty/ Spiashchaja krasavitsa) is now world famous. The National Ballet of Ukraine Odessa brings this colossal dream performance, an enchanting experience for the whole family in a renewed version to our Dutch theaters in December. Be quick because there are only a few performances!

The National Ballet of Ukraine is housed in one of the oldest and most beautiful opera and ballet houses in Europe. The company has an international reputation for its impressive ensemble, brilliant soloists and passionate productions. For the first time, the Dutch audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the astonishing quality that makes this performance so irresistible.
