The Kiev Ballet or Kiev Modern Ballet was founded in 2006 by the multi-award winning choreographer Radu Poklitaru. Internationally, the company is appreciated for its original, surprising and distinctly modern choreographies, amazing dancers and compelling theatricality. Everywhere young and old are showing standing ovations and praising reviews fort his dynamic young dance ensemble. Poklitaru is one of the greatest modern choreographers outside Western Europe who shows that in addition to perfect classics, there is also high-quality modern dance of international class in cities like Kiev.
Modern Ballet on the world famous ballet music (1892) by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Libretto based on a fairy tale by the German writer E.T.A. Hoffmann. The original choreography was by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. With his choreography, Radu Poklitaru wants to show the fairytale but ofcourse in a surprising reinterpretation.
