Magnanimous, enchanting, sacred choral singing from the Ukraine, rooted in Eastern Orthodox and Byzantine history. The Kiev Choir Credo was founded in April, 2002. All singers of the choir are professional musicians. The conductor of the choir, Bogdan Plish, is the winner of the Grand Prix of the III Ukrainian competition for choir conductors and the chief conductor of the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine (since 2013).
From the beginning Credo managed to draw the attention from a wide range of music fans to attract and receives rave reviews from the most influential musicians of the country and abroad.
The repertoire of the choir consists of a cappella music from the 16th – 21st century, folk music and pieces from the genre cantata oratorio, often collaborating with modern well-known composers such as Sylvestrov and Part. While performing sacred music, these choir artists strive for the highest artistic unity in which the warmth and spirituality are central. This way the choir creates a unique style of performance.
In 2005-2017, the Kiev Choir Credo toured Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, France and Hungary.
The choir won the XXIV International Competition of Sacred Music ‘Hainuwka – 2005’ (Poland), the Grand Prix of the 44th International Choir Competition in Tolosa (Spain) and became a finalist of the European Grand Prix in Choral 2013 (Arezzo, Italy).
The Kiev Choir Credo from the Ukraine is really a treat for the ear and will leave a valuable memory for everyone.
